Pete’s Open Mic has filled the room every Sunday evening for over 20 years, providing a springboard for many a New York performer. Join host Bruce Martin in Pete's intimate music room for a lively night of performances.
EVERY WEDNESDAY 7:30-9:30PM
NYC's finest trivia beckons. Got the brains? Bring your friends and wrack your noodles with six rounds of clever, fun, HARD trivia. The most experienced trivia hosts in the city will test your mental mettle in areas of General Knowledge, Music, Top Tens, and Visual Identification. First Prize is a $75 bar tab, Second Prize is a $40 bar tab and Third Prize is a $15 bar tab. But the real prize (besides bragging rights for those who place, and a berth in the twice yearly finals) is the time honored social scene of the Quizz-Off crowd. Give it a try, smart guy! And come early for a good table - we DO NOT take reservations.
EVERY THIRD THURSDAY AT 7:30PM
Spanning over two decades, Pete’s Reading Series has earned a reputation as Brooklyn's premiere reading series, where today's literary icons and tomorrow's stars take the stage regularly. The series is curated and hosted by Vanessa Chan and Brian Gresko.
THIRD MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH AT 6:30PM
At Play Date, you'll hear new dramatic works & reinterpreted classics read with extreme vigor and pizazz.
THIRD FRIDAY OF EVERY MONTH AT 7PM
Bobby Hankinson hosts a diverse line-up of LGBTQ performers for an evening of comedy and storytelling that is sure to make Mike Pence uncomfortable. It's not just gay, it's GAAAAAYYYYY. Gay like The B-52s are gay. Gay like Hocus Pocus is gay. Gay like Pee-Wee’s Playhouse is gay. Come for the laughs, stay for the fresh faces in your Grindr grid. Donations welcome for Streetwise & Safe, a local organization that works with LGBTQ youth of color.
EVERY SATURDAY AT 3:30PM
Loose Lips is a comedy open mic for the most iconic standup, characters and storytelling in NYC! Hosted by Fallon Boles & Vassileia Kazee.
EVERY FIRST FRIDAY AT 7PM
"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race." If you need a reminder of how human you are, join us for an open mic poetry night on the first Friday of every month. We can sound our barbaric yawps over the rooftops of the world (or just in Pete's back room). All are welcome! Tune in, turn on, and drop dead.
FIRST MONDAY OF EVERY MONTH AT 7PM
Do you like a shot of science with your beer? At Biology on Tap, we bring local scientists, educators, and other professionals to Pete's each month to present to you, with games and trivia as well! We started in 2018 here in Brooklyn as friends of the Astronomy on Tap crew. After hibernating for almost three years, we re-emerged at Pete's in 2023 with even more to talk about! Join us in the primordial booze of life!
THIRD TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH AT 7PM
Ever wanted to drink with the stars? Now you can! Each month, we bring astronomers, educators, and other astronomy professionals to Pete's for short talks, trivia and games, and a whole lotta fun. These aren't your stodgy ivory-tower boring scientist talks, we make sure they are engaging and irreverent, but also informative. Started in 2013 here in Brooklyn, we've held over 130 events in and around New York City while the series has expanded all over the world. So join us and learn stuff while getting drunk!
